The Division of Emergency Medicine, Department of Family Medicine has over 30 faculty members at two academic health care institutions across four sites in Hamilton, in addition to several part time faculty members distributed across sites in Southwestern Ontario. The division’s academic mission is to foster impactful scholarship, educational innovation and clinical excellence.

Faculty members in the Division of Emergency Medicine at McMaster University serve McMaster Children’s Hospital’s emergency department – the fastest-growing pediatric emergency department in Ontario. Our collaborative team works with community partners to provide outreach educational support including patient simulation education, regional advocacy, telephone consultation for regional physicians and telemedicine support for pediatric resuscitations.
